Frequently Asked Questions

WHERE ARE YOU LOCATED?

We are at the corner of Johnson St. and Wayne Ave.  in the Historic South Park Neighborhood. We have a parking lot around the back of the shop.

CAN I GET A QUOTE OVER THE PHONE?

Because framing is all based on size, mat, frame and glass choices a quote cannot be given via telephone. Please bring your artwork in and we will happily take the time to find a perfect design for you and give you a price for all work and materials.

DO YOU SELL READYMADE FRAMES?

From time to time we may have a standard size frame in house but generally
speaking all of our work is custom and fit to the client’s needs.

WHAT IS YOUR TURNAROUND TIME?

Our turnaround time is generally around 4 weeks. Depending on the demands of the order, this timeframe may fluxuate. Orders that need to be completed more quickly will incure a rush charge to jump ahead of the queue.

WHY IS FRAMING SO EXPENSIVE?

The materials used for framing can be expensive, this increases the overall cost. Whether it is custom millwork, archival boards and mounting techniques, museum quality glazing, or imported moulding, these factors can influence the overall price of an order.

DO YOU OFFER GIFT CERTIFICATES?

We currently only offer gift certificates in store, though we are discussing offering them by mail as well!

Over a decade ago, we here at custom frame have engaged in some light blogging to shed light both on the history of our shop, and to discuss the concepts of framing. Now, in 2026, we would like to redevelop this field of our shop by introducing semi-regular blog posts that focus either on an interesting piece of work that we’ve done in recent memory, or discussing some educatory aspect of framing that some of our customers may find interesting. We hope you will join us in this (nearly) new and exciting burgeoning aspect of our shop, and share your thoughts with us about the work that we’ve done!
